Events in September 2014

 This is going to be an exciting month! You can go café hopping, celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, relive The Beatles and Harry Potter nostalgia, watch K-pop superstars in action, try food from around the world, and of course, enjoy the famous Formula 1 night race. 


Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival 2014

Also known as the Mooncake Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival is based on Chinese legends and traditions, commemorated with pretty lanterns and delicious mooncakes. Choose from traditional baked mooncakes, or the more modern chilled “snow skin” mooncakes. Like every other year, it’s going to be celebrations galore. Join in the festivities in the neighbourhoods or participate in events like the Mass Lantern Walk, Chinatown Mid-Autumn Festival Walking Trail, lantern making and lantern painting competitions.

A Design Film Festival 2014

Founded in 2010 by a local design studio, A Design Film Festival is a curated collection of films dedicated to architecture, fashion, photography, street art, motion graphics, technology and the subculture of design. This year’s Festival theme On a Scale of Art to Design muses on the contemporary conundrum: ‘Is it Art or Design?’ and design aficionados will get the opportunity to learn more about their passion through inspiring platforms like short films and documentaries.

Alan & Hacken 10th Anniversary Singapore Tour

The powerhouse duo is back in Singapore to celebrate their 10th successful year in the music industry. Cantopop superstar Alan Tam is teaming up with songbird Hacken Lee once again to entertain the audience with their charisma and perfect vocals. This perfect collaboration has won the hearts of fans around the globe since 2003, and here’s your chance to watch the pair in action. You can catch electrifying performances of their classic hits and a stand-up comedy penned by the famous comedian, Dayo Wong.

Café Fest Singapore 2014

Something exciting's brewing. If you're a café lover, you don't want to miss this for the world. Brace yourselves for an awesome weekend of café hopping this September as the Tell Great Little Stories (TGLS) team brings you the first ever café hopping street. Expect good coffee, yummy food, great company and awesome music once you get your hands on the Festival Pass. David Blaine Asia Tour 2014 Live in Singapore

Yellow Ribbon Prison Run 2014

If you’re an advocate of second chances, here’s your chance to run for a cause you believe in. The Yellow Ribbon project aims to create awareness of giving second chances to ex-offenders, generate acceptance, and inspire the community to support their rehabilitation and reintegration. The route will take you on a scenic journey of lush greenery and historical sights and end at Changi Prison Complex. As of now, online registration has closed, but you can head on down to the Race Pack Collection to register for the run.

2014 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix

Gear up for the biggest night race of the year because the Singapore Grand Prix is back in town. Watch world-class F1 racers zoom through the Marina Bay Street Circuit. If you’ve been to an event like this, you’ll know that there are exciting side events as well. International superstars like Robbie Williams, Pet Shop Boys, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend and Taiwanese rockband Mayday will grace the event. Visitors can also look forward to parties, tours and exhibitions specially organised for the F1 season.

Pink Ribbon Walk 2014

Walk for a cause this September and join the walk against breast cancer.
