Gardens by the Bay 

Gardens by the Bay is the latest attraction to redefine Singapore tourism. It has three large waterfront gardens: Bay South, Bay East and Bay Central which sit on 101 hectares of prime land. Gardens by the Bay showcases refined horticulture and impressive garden artistry. A sprawling nature reserve, you will find an assortment of tropical flowers, coloured foliage and an assortment of ferns. River Safari 

Experience river life through a visually-captivating boat ride. The River Safari is Asia's first river-themed wildlife park that showcases the various rivers of the world and their respective species – including The Mississippi, Congo River, The Nile, The Ganges, Murray River, The Mekong, Yangtze and Amazon River, among others. Keep your eye out for freshwater creatures such as the Congo Puffer, Mekong Giant Catfish and African Arowana.

Louis Vuitton Island Maison 

Just when you thought that the Singapore shopping experience could not get any better, Louis Vuitton unveiled the Louis Vuitton Island Maison – a glass and steel pavilion that floats on water. The Island features an art gallery and an expansive display of Louis Vuitton goods. Designed by architect Moshe Safdie, you can access the Island via an outdoor bridge, by boat disembarking at a jetty or from the mall through a tunnel.

Merlion Park

Singapore Art Museum 

The Singapore Art Museum has one of the world’s largest collections of modern and contemporary Southeast Asian artworks. These include works by pioneering and young artists and range from the painterly to the minimal and abstract. The newly opened SAM at 8Q is a contemporary art space for presenting fresh, multi-disciplinary, interactive and community-oriented programming.

PULAU UBIN

Pulau Ubin 

An island located north-east of Singapore’s main island, Pulau Ubin is reachable by a 10-minute bumboat ride from Changi Point Ferry Terminal. There are no opening hours, but regular services generally run from 8.30am to about 6pm. A quiet, rural island, attractions at Pulau Ubin include bicycle trails and Chek Jawa Wetlands. Chek Jawa Wetlands is an intertidal flat that naturally contains several different ecosystems in a 1-hectare area, making it perfect for nature lovers. Chek Jawa Wetlands is open daily from 8.30am to 6pm. Admission is free.


ARTSCIENCE MUSEUM

Artscience Museum 

One of the major attractions at Marina Bay Sands, the ArtScience Museum plays host to blockbuster travelling exhibits as well as permanent exhibits across 50,000 ft2 of gallery space. As stunning from the outside as the artifacts it contains inside, the ArtScience Museum resembles a lotus flower. Its unique roof design enables it to harvest rain water, which is then channeled through a 35-metre drop to a reflecting pool before being used in other parts of the building.

 


ASIAN CIVILISATIONS MUSEUM

Asian Civilisations Museum 

Located in the historic Empress Place Building, there are 11 galleries with over 1300 artefacts in the Asian Civilisations Museum. It showcases a microcosm of the Asian civilisations, and tells the story of Southeast Asian, Chinese, West Asian and South Asian histories and cultures. There is also the Singapore River Gallery, which displays the history of the immigrants who lived and worked along the Singapore River, contributing immeasurably to Singapore’s growth during her early years. There are also various other changing exhibits throughout the year, which may have paid or free admissions. Concession tickets are available for students and seniors aged 60 and above, while discounted tickets are available for all from 7pm on Fridays. RIVER EXPLORER BOAT TOUR

River Explorer 

The Singapore River was integral to the development of Singapore’s economy. Learn more about its history and view the stunning Marina Bay area while on this 40 minute boat tour on a traditional bumboat. From Clarke Quay and the Raffles Landing Site to Marina Bay Sands and the Merlion, you will see the best of the Singapore River while on the River Explorer Boat Tour. The tour commentary is conducted in English, but other languages are available for prearranged group bookings of a minimum of 30. Boat tours depart at 30 minute intervals, and tickets cost S$18 for adults and S$9 for children. Alternatively, you can buy a Hop-On-and-Off day pass for the air-conditioned river taxi which enables you to take unlimited rides from any of the 13 embarkation points.
