Christmas on a Great Street

xmas-dec2012Orchard Road transforms into a glittering wonderland every year end, with sparkling fairy lights and Christmas decorations. Malls compete with each other for the Best Dressed Building competition, and carolers and performers mingle with shoppers on the street. This visual treat has been ranked among Lonely Planet's Top 10 Christmas Markets of the World 2011 and is not to be missed.

Mystica – Dreamforest Fiesta

mystica-dec2012Fairy folk and woodland creatures greet you at this Night Safari adventure. Whimsical decorations, light installations and ambient music add to the Night Safari’s atmosphere. During this time, you can go on a personal tour of the lush, magical grounds on the Mystica Safari Adventurer Tour and encounter various exciting twilight experiences before settling down to an equally magical fancy feast. The new Wallaby Trail houses Singapore’s only man-made cave with walk-through tunnels and animals native to Australasia.

ZoukOut 2012

zouk-dec2012Now in its 12th year, ZoukOut remains one of Singapore’s hottest outdoor dance music festivals. Featuring world famous DJs and artistes, it has won the Singapore Tourism Board’s “Best Leisure Event Experience” award three times. This year’s line-up includes over 30 DJs and artistes from all over the world including Singapore, Canada, the UK, Spain, Germany, Japan, the US and more.

Free Guided Walks in Fort Canning Park

The Singapore Show: President’s Young Talents 2012

young-talents-dec2012This contemporary arts exhibition features four of Singapore’s most talented young artists. Organised by the Istana and the Singapore Art Museum, this exhibition encourages experimentation by featuring fresh, new artwork created specially by the artists for the event. Artists who are chosen to present their artwork in this exhibition are carefully selected by a curatorial committee, and are likely to go on to represent Singapore at international art platforms.

The Jewel Box Hilltop Celebrations 2012

hilltop-dec2012Participate in the year end festivities at The Jewel Box this year for beautiful views of the South of Singapore. Explore the special Angry Birds themed village, and have a journey on the cable cars. During the weekends, you can enjoy live band performances. Take your pick of specially created menus for the month of December. If you visit on New Year’s Eve, you can catch a spectacular view of the midnight fireworks.

Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2013

If you come across any of the wishing spheres in various shopping malls across the island before the event, feel free to pen your wishes for the New Year on them. These spheres will be set afloat as part of the Bay of Hope & Light, forming a mesmerising visual arts display as a backdrop to the free outdoor theatre performances that will entertain you for the countdown party.

Siloso Beach Party 2012

beach-party-dec2012Starting at 6pm at Siloso Beach, usher in the new year with local and international DJ superstars. Head to the main arena for thumping chart-toppers, COASTES for laid-back house, the Azzura Beach Club for plush party tunes or Wave House Sentosa for electro spins. Beachwear and sandals or slippers are recommended. Don’t forget to bring along your photo ID, a towel and a change of clothes.
