Volvo Ocean Race - Singapore Stopover

River Hongbao

Myths and legends come alive in this annual Chinese cultural exposition. Explore majestic large-scale displays, such as the popular God of Fortune and the twelve Chinese Zodiac Animals. Interesting and exciting cultural performances are lined up nightly. 50 stalls will be set-up, featuring both local & traditional Chinese delicacies. There will also be a daily display of dazzling firecrackers & pyrotechnics.

Chinese Lunar New Year

This festive Chinese occasion celebrates the year of the Rat. Starting mid-January, traverse brightly-lit streets filled with red and gold decorations, auspicious foods and traditional snacks. City malls and heartland stalls are beautifully adorned to bring in the festive mood.

Chingay Parade Singapore 2009
30th Jan - 31st Jan 2009
Starting from 8.30pm on both days, the Chingay parade is a spectacular floats parade held at night during the Chinese New Year festive period. Sequinned performers and elaborate floats from multi-ethnic groups participate in this exuberant celebration of spontaneity and colour.  The parade will be held over 2 days which there will be a After-Parade on the last day of the event after 10pm.
