Art-In-Film Festival at Dusk 2013

Fans or art and film are in for a treat as the Tanjong Beach Club hosts the Art-In-Film Festival at Dusk. Amongst the beautiful surrounds of Tanjong Beach, the outdoor cinema will show award winning art films and documentaries including the much praised Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry. Make sure you accompany your movie with a meal. In charge of the food will be Tanjong Beach Club Executive Chef Craig Schantz, who has previously worked at Momofuku Ma Peche and Oceana, both in New York City.

Mosaic Music Festival

Starting in 2005 as a jazz festival, Mosaic has expanded its musical palate over the years and become one of the most popular events in Singapore. With a line-up featuring pop, jazz, ska, avant garde music and more, this festival is for the serious music fan. Housed in the iconic Esplanade Theatre and surrounding areas, this is a great chance to experience some modern culture while in Singapore. Time Travel with Melvyn Tan: A History of the Piano in Aid of Viva Foundation for Children with Cancer

piano-mar2013Internationally renowned pianist Melvyn Tan will take you on a musical journey through history for one night only this March. Showcasing the history of the piano, Melvin will start from the beginning by playing harpsichord, fortepiano and then of course the modern piano we all know so well. Using his instruments he’ll take you through 250 years of classical music featuring works by Rameau, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy. Proceeds from the event will go to the Viva Foundation which helps kids with cancer.

Concerts Galore

concerts-mar2013March 2013 sees so much music coming to Singapore’s shores. Not only is it the month of the Mosaic Music Festival but there’s other huge names gracing our shore as well. For the under 30s there’s Bloc Party on the 18th of March. Catch these indie heroes at Fort Canning. March also seems to be the month of Golden Oldies. First up is Santana on the 4th of March at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, then Deep Purple on the 12th of March at The Star Theatre Performing Arts Centre and finally rock legends Journey will be rocking the Indoor Stadium on the 19th of March.
