10 Must-Visit Attractions in Singapore for Thrill Seekers

While Singapore is widely recognised for being a fantastic shopping and dining destination, it has also been steadily growing many aspects of its tourism scene in recent years. For thrill seekers with a natural thirst for adrenaline-pumping fun, we’ve lined up 10 must-visit attractions that are well worth the time.

G-Max

The first on our list is the G-Max Reverse Bungy ride. Located right to next to Clarke Quay – one of Singapore’s top nightlife scenes – the G-Max is a thrilling and exhilarating experience that will have you screaming for more. Once unleashed, the G-Max soar 60 metres into the air, hitting 100 kilometres per hour and attaining up to G Force 5! This is truly an experience not to be missed, especially for thrill seekers, so be sure to check it out.

MegaZip Adventure Park

For something a little more challenging - but no less thrilling - there’s the MegaZip Adventure Park located at Siloso Beach on the resort island of Sentosa. Taking pride of place is the extreme MegaZip flying fox that’s 450 metres long and 72 metres above sea level. Feel your pulse quicken as you zip over the jungle canopy and buzzing beach below. There’s also the ClimbMax aerial obstacle course set amongst the treetops and ParaJump free-fall simulator that promises to bring excitement levels to new heights.

Flight Simulators

For those who have ever wondered what it feels like to pilot an airliner, there are two places in Singapore you can go to experience just that. The first is the Flight Experience simulator centre located at the Singapore Flyer, which lets users get behind the controls of a Boeing 737NG plane. The second is the SG Flight Simulations centre, which is located in the Orchard Central shopping mall in Orchard Road, and offers an Airbus A320 cockpit experience. For aviation enthusiast, be sure not to miss these unique flight experiences.

Ultimate Drive

If fast cars are more your thing, be sure to try out the Ultimate Drive experience, which puts you behind the wheels of a Ferrari F430 F1 Spider or a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder on three different routes, including Singapore’s official F1 street circuit. Your pulse will start racing once you flag off your supercar ride at either the iconic Marina Bay Sands or the impressive Singapore Flyer. Each car is equipped with dual HD cameras to record your drive – a great way to remember the thrilling experience.

SKI 360°

From land to water, the thrills don’t stop. Billed as Singapore’s first and only cable-ski park, the SKI 360° is a great place to indulge in water sports such as wakeboarding, surfing and water skiing.  The cable travels at a speed of 20 to 58 kilometre per hour, about the same speed as a boat during a tournament, and can allow up to eight riders at a time, cutting down on waiting time. For those more adventurous, the lagoon also features a variety of obstacles, such as kickers, a funbox and wallrides to test your skills.

Marina Wakeboarding Hub

For more wakeboarding thrills and spills, be sure to check out the Marina Wakeboarding Hub. Located at the Marina Country Club in Punggol, this is Singapore’s largest wakeboarding hub and houses several wakeboarding schools and up to 45 wakeboarding boats. This is the perfect activity to share with a group of friends, and you would be well advised to book your session in advance to ensure availability of places.

iFly

Want to experience the thrills of skydiving without any of the risks involved? Then make your way to iFly at Sentosa - the world’s first and largest vertical wind tunnel for indoor skydiving. Spanning around 5 metres wide and 17 metres tall (the rough equivalent of five storeys), the iFly wind tunnel also has an acrylic glass wall section that lets you enjoy an unparalleled view of the South China Sea and Siloso Beach. With a team of certified instructors on hand to guide you through, it’s an exhilarating experience that’s suitable for anyone from the age of 7 onwards.

The Flying Trapeze

Located along Siloso Beach, Sentosa is another attraction for high flying thrill seekers. The Flying Trapeze lets you experience what it’s like to be a circus trapeze artist. With a group of trapeze instructors on hand to guide you through the experience, you’ll be looking to perform your own acts of flying such as somersaults and pirouettes in no time. Everything is done over a safety net while wearing a safety harness too, so you can let yourself fully enjoy the thrills of the trapeze.

TreeTop Walk

Enjoy a bird’s eye view of Singapore’s nature scenery with the MacRitchie TreeTop Walk. This 250m-long freestanding suspension bridge between the two highest points of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve (MacRitchie) is the first of its kind in Singapore, and allows one to be at a height of 25 metres above the ground. Feast your eyes on the forest birds and spot wildlife such as lemurs, monitor lizards, squirrels and macaques in their natural habitat. With all this and more, it’s a veritable walk on the wild side.

Battlestar Galactica at Universal Studios Singapore

The Battlestar Galatica: Human vs. Cyclon roller coaster is scheduled to re-open on 27 May 2015, after an extensive attraction review. Billed as the world’s tallest duelling roller coaster, the ride features an inverted roller coaster track in blue and a traditional seated roller coaster in red. Simply put, if you’re a fan of high speed thrills, this is a ride that you simply must not miss.

Did You Know?

For thrills and suspense of a more cerebral kind, be sure to check out locked puzzle rooms, which are fast catching on in popularity here in Singapore. There are several companies here that host such puzzle rooms, in which you and a group of friends will have to solve a series of mental or physical challenges with the ultimate goal of escaping from the locked room you’re in – within the time limit. It’s a fun and exciting way to bond with friends. Check out our recommendations here!
